General Overview of the Infinix Hot Shot, Better Known as Infinix Hot S

Infinix Mobility had a slow start in the year 2016, until they announced the new Infinix Hot S smart phone in July. This device was to be released as competition for the recently launched Tecno Canon C9. It is an addition to the Hot S series product line featuring the major improvements of the new user interface (XOS), new design and the inclusion of a fingerprint scanner. It’s price rating was judged to be slightly expensive, going from 50,000 to 55,000 naira.

Features unique to this smart phone include being the first of its product line to have dual LED flashlight, use Android 6.0 Marshmallow Operating System, and to include a fingerprint scanner, 5.2inch screen, 2GB and 3GB RAM in one of the following variants: Android 6.0 Marshmallow or 3,000 mAh battery. It’s also the first in this line to support Virtual Reality (VR) Headsets.

It brings a Dual Micro SIM card; it fully supports 4G LTE network. It’s 5.2-inch screen has full HD capabilities with 424 pixels per inch framed by a full aluminum body, which come in the following colors: gold, black, blue, ash and pink. It has a processor of 1.3 GHz 64 bit Octa- core MediaTek MT6753 motherboard, complimented by a Mali-T720 graphics processor.

It is available with an internal storage of either 16GB or 32GB; these can be extended by use of external memory cards. Its front camera comes with an 8.0 megapixels with LED flash and a 120-degree wide viewing angle.

The front camera’s flash is soft-light so it should be able to enhance the photo’s without drowning them out with too much light.

Considering the specifications given above we can say that the IPhone 6 was probably the source and inspiration for the beautiful design incorporated into the Infinix Hot S. It’s aluminum body was made with slim edges to fit the hand in an almost ergonomic way. Unlike the IPhone 6, the fingerprint scanner is located at the back of the device exactly below its 13.0 mega pixel camera.

Infinix Mobility made an astounding smart marketing decision in the usage of the Android 6.0 Marshmallow operating system for the first time in any of their mobile devices. Given the knowledge that the Android 7.0 Nougat operating system has been announced to be released soon giving this product line the possibility of future upgrades. This device uses Octa-Core MediaTek motherboard to process its information.

As we learned previously this device is available in 2 variants. The first with 2GB RAM and a 16GB internal storage capacity, while the second has 3GB RAM and 32GB internal storage; both are expandable through external memory cards. An interesting feature also unique to this device is that it is a dual SIM smartphone.
