Infinix Zero 2 X509 Review

Infinix Zero 2 X509 – a very powerful smartphone form Infinix – use to be on top of my list of best Infinix phones, though that is about to change after see what Zero 3 has to offer.

That isn’t to say that the phone has become inferior, no, not at all!

Infinix Zero 2 still remains a top-level Android smartphone at an affordable price.

Zero 2 is the successor of Infinix Zero X506 (another top-level smartphone from Infinix) and it comes with awesome specs.

Let’s look at the review in details…

The Design

Infinix Zero 2 Review

Infinix Zero 2 X509 comes in a similar design as the first Zero, but it is lighter, slimmer and stronger.

The device comes with a 5-inch AMOLED display that is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3. It is built with an aluminium frame, while the back cover is built with Kevlar fibre.

Just like the Zero X506, Infinix Zero 2 has its power and volume button on right side with the microSD slot on top of the volume button.

Similar to Zero, the dual SIM slot can be found on the left side of the device.

The loudspeaker is maintained at the bottom side while the 3.5mm audio jack and the microUSB slot remains at the top side.

The camera can be found at the top-left corner of the device with the LED flash right below it, unlike the Zero where the LED flash is at the right side of the camera.

Infinix Zero 2 is 6.7mm thick and weighs about 118 grams. It is 145 mm tall and 71.5 mm wide.

The Display

Zero 2 comes with a 5-inch Super AMOLED HD display with 720 x 1280 resolution, which gives 294 pixel per inch.

Super AMOLED have the advantage that they allow for a slimmer design as well as offer better battery efficiency, which can result in better battery life.

The display brings brighter definition and sharp color fidelity through a 30000: 1 contrast ratio and 100% NTCS high color saturation.

Colors and Variants

Infinix Zero 2 is available in only the 2GB + 16GB model but comes in three different colors.

The colors are:

  • Red
  • Black
  • Gold.

Operating System and Processor

Zero X509 comes with Android 4.4.2 Kit Kat which is a bit disappointing. Lollipop would have been better.

The device is powered by 2.0 GHz octa-core MediaTek M6592 CPU with Mali 450-MP4 GPU.

The device also comes with a newer version of the Infinix User Interface (version 2.0).

Infinix Zero 2 Review

The new and improved ICON design resonates with mobile design and style to emphasize minimalistic beauty.

Infinix Zero 2 comes with 2GB RAM and 16GB internal storage that is expandable to up to 32GB using micro SD card.

With 2GB RAM coupled with MTK6592 octa-core chipset clocking at a speed of 2.0GHz, the Zero 2 is expected to run smoothly.

Multitasking and running of high graphics games shouldn’t be a problem.

Infinix Zero 2 comes with the standard connectivity options like: WiFi, WiFi Hotspot, FM Radio, USB, Bluetooth v4.0, USB OTG and GPS and also supports Dual SIM functionality. It is installed with Proximity, Gyro and Light Sensor.

The device does not support 4G LTE, which is another downside, but with 3G and 2G support, internet surfing shouldn’t be a problem.

The Infinix Zero 2 came with quality cameras which boasts to be among the Next Generation Cameras. 13MP + f/2.0 + smart gesture at the Rear and 5MP in the Front, it ensures crystal clear pictures.

The f/2.0 aperture of the camera provides 18% more light to shoot your moments even in dark environment.

The camera also provides 0.5 s Auto-Focus mechanism which is 20% faster and reduces chances of blurry pictures by using Alternate VCM.

Zero 2 comes with a better batter than its predecessor. It comes with a battery capacity of 2300mAh, unlike Infinix Zero that came with 1920mAh battery capacity. You can expect to enjoy more hours of usability.
